MAY 3, SUNDAY

GLASS LAMP AND BIRDHOUSE.

Last Friday when still feverish from my attempt to win a Venetian (maybe) vase at auction I stopped on my way back from Asheville to look in at the the Weaverville Restore Store. I saw a bamboo bird cage and a lamp with a clear glass base that I liked. To cool myself off and to not make a hasty decision I took photos of them but tore myself away. But all evening I could not get them out of my mind and the minute the Restore opened at 10 on Saturday I was there, greatly relieved that they were still there and had not somehow been sold in the dead of night.

So I brought them home. The lamp lights my hallway and I filled the bamboo bird cage with birds from Sri Lanka, Vienna, Mexico and Mexico and hung the cage up in the small room off of my living room.
