BLUFF MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL

Every summer there is a Madison County celebration on the grounds of the Spa in Hot Springs. There are all kinds of booths selling hand made things or promoting good causes or selling food, but the main attraction is the stage where musicians play, fronted by a plywood dance floor where women clog, a form of Appalachian dance. In the hour I was there I listened to Sheila Kay Adams and friends sing ballads followed by the Whitewater Bluegrass Company led by Uncle Ted White who played while women clogged.
