10 FOOT WEDDING DRESS
Gambling seems to have taken over the USA on line. Half the ads at sporting events seem to be invitations to gamble, to win big, with first time bettors being offered all kinds of incentives. Then I read that gambling on political events is making people who apparently have insider information very rich. In tiny letters below each ad is advice on what to do if you are addicted and have gambled your family’s home and possessions away, but once the fever siezes you who looks at the fine print.
All of this is leading up to why I have a ten foot tall white wedding dress tacked on the high wall behind a pillar in my guest room.
Do I need a ten foot high wedding dress? I am certainly not going to wear it or offer it to anyone else. I am aware that buying it was a wacko choice on my part. But I couldn’t resist it. It was so delicate and so large that I just had to have it and then to hang it up so I could look at it. I could cover it with a sheet, but for some reason it pleases me to have it hanging on the wall half hidden by the pillar. And at least I didn’t gamble house and retirement savings away, it cost $22 at the Restore Store.
But the question I am asking myself is why I, or anyone else is impelled along.
Some people can’t resist gambling, I can’t resist ten foot high wedding dresses. Who knows why.
