WOODSON BRANCH SCHOOL PLANT SALE
Woodson Branch is an alternative public school in Madison County that lets children spend a lot of time outdoors and in the school gardens. It has fallen on hard financial times lately. Dana Nagle is in charge of the school gardens and each spring she has a plant sale as a fund raiser which is especially needed this year. This spring near disaster hit when some of the potting soil was infected with chance herbicides that disfigured some of the plants Dana was growing. So she put the stunted plants aside and sold the plants that seemed not to be harmed for half price as well as selling a large number of plants that were unharmed. A huge number of people were there to transplant plants into their own gardens. It was a beautiful cool sunny day. Lots of children came with their parents and everyone had a good time.
