ROGUE EMU

This morning there was a rogue emu, four feet high, delicately high stepping around the Capitola Mill parking lot and causing great consternation and excitement among the inhabitants of the building.

Apparently this has happened before but for me it was a shock. The only emu I was aquainted with was on Liberty auto insurance ads and I expected the company representative who is engaged on TV in bizarre situations like parachuting with the emu into a football game but missing the landing and crashing in a parking lot, to come running from behind the parked cars with a plea for me to buy insurance.

But instead a man and a woman appeared and gently shooed the emu out of the parking lot and down a dirt road to where they were maintaining some kind of a bird sanctuary
