HAARLEM ON MY MIND
Culture shock is what happens to some people when they enter a culture completely different from their own where they don’t know the language or how to do the simplest things and don’t know what is expected of them. But culture shock for me comes when I come back to the culture where I feel constrained by a language and culture that I know. It is hard to fit back into a culture where I know exactly what is expected and everything is routine. Today I didn’t venture out of my apartment. I am not ready to fit back in. I am going to stay in Haarlem.
