BLUEGRASS AT ZUMA
On the third Saturday of every month at Zuma’s restaurant bluegrass musicians gather to play together. There is a tip jar but no further cost. I brought some vanilla ice cream in an insulated mug, bought a root beer and made a root beer float and then listened to bluegrass for two hours. I’ll go to the Carolina Chamber Players five concerts in July and will listen to Bach and Beethoven and Stravinsky with appreciation. But the music that really moves me is bluegrass. And these bluegrass musicians are just as accomplished as the excellent Carolina Chamber Player musicians whose concerts are $35 apiece while this Saturday afternoon was free except for a tip.
