CONTRA DANCING ON THE ISLAND

The first floor of the Marshall High Studios on Blanahassett Island were thick with mud and debris after Helene flooded Marshall over a year ago. The studios were renovated first and finally the school auditorium hung with while lights had a new floor. This contra dance wwas the first big event on the island.

I thought thirty people might show up for contra dancing but when I got there at 7 or so there were at least 200 dancers, a couple of ecallers and a three piece band. A donation of $10 was requested for a charitable cause but the hot dogs were free. It soon became obvious that almost everyone had been to contra omdances before and knew just what they were doing and were ready to have a glorious evening.

To convey the flavor of the evening I videoed the dancing in spatial video with my iPhone which you see here in flat screen. In the artificial light the iPhone did the best it could. This is will give you a taste of the evening.

You keep mentioning things like “I videoed the dancing in spatial video with my iPhone which you see here in flat screen”

But No, no, no – There is nothing to see ever – photos or videos, etc.

    What’s going on?
