LEAF SEASON IN ASHEVILLE

In October, on a good year when the weather has been not too wet and not too drive and the nights are chilly but not yet freezing, the leaves turn brilliant reds and yellows and orange. Asheville fills up with visitors, the hotel prices shoot up, and the Blue Ridge Parkway up into the mountains is bumper to bumper as people come from all over to see the fall colors.

We missed the peak because we were in Morocco but when I went for a walk on a warm sunny afternoon up Jones Mountain above my house there were still a few beautiful trees along the path.

Beautiful colors.
