FLYING
Finally Susie and I were off to Amsterdam, getting up very early, I was awake at 3, and getting to the Asheville airport early where I was going to use being slumped over in a wheelchair as my way to by pass the huge lines of people being delayed by TSA staff shortages. But when we got there there were a number of TSA people manning security and no one else in sight. There was no one in the TSA rapid bypass line and no one in the general line. Not a soul, as we strolled through, were rapidly processed and then had to wait two hours at the gate.
Atlanta was equally easy. Susie and I took Melatonin at 4, before our 5 p.m. flight and then half an Ambien after we were strapped in our seats. We traded seats and got to sit together and both of us slept well, only briefly tasting the tasteless dinner and skipping breakfast to get about 8 hours sleep before deplanning at 7:45 a.m. (their time, 1:45 a.m. in the morning Marshall time).
