MARCH 30, MONDAY

ACCIDENT AGAIN

Today I drove to State Farm Insuarance to press my case that I was not guilty of an accident and that the young woman was at fault. The very pleasant woman at State Farm said that in most cases that came to State Farm the policeman had not indicated who was at fault. Doing that might require them to show up in court if the case went to court and they didn’t want to do that.

In cases of a finally decided no fault judgement State Farm would pay for the damage to their client and the other insurance company would pay for the other person. If either company had to pay out for their client that person’s insurance premiums would go up. A no fault settlement would suit me just fine. My Honda CRV is 19 years old and has 250,000 miles and, by my reckonihg, not long to live although I might go first. But in any case a slight dent and scratch by the wheels wouldn’t affect how well it drove and I wouldn’t care whether it was scratched or not. In fact no fault would suit me better than finding the fault lay with the young woman because it would be cheaper for her and I wouldn’t care.

So that is what I hope happens.
