HOSTING AGAIN
Susie took the day off from work so she and I drove to Weaverville so that Chris wouldn’t have to drive on curvy roads and joined them for a very nice lunch at Well Bread Bakery. We had a good time talking and then drove in two cars to Marshall and walked around town awhile. At this point Chris decided to go back to their hotel. Richard stayed with us. I took a nap before we were going to go to Zadie’s with Todd for dinner. While I was napping Richard and Susie finally consumed some of my snacks and had a great conversation. When I woke up, rested and ready for a long evening as a host, Todd had called. He was feeling sick with a cold that he didn’t want to give anyone so he couldn’t come with us to Zadie’s for supper. Richard and Susie were full of my snacks and didn’t want to go to supper either. So it turned out that as host I had slept through the conversation and had woken up in time to drive back with Susie to drop Richard off at their Fairfield Hotel.
My second day as an ineffectual host.
