OCTOBER 5, SUNDAY

CHURCH

Now that I live in Marshall, every Sunday I reconnect with the Warren Wilson community through going to church. But this Sunday was special. It was Homecoming Sunday and a number of returning alumni were there with a welcome back potluck provided by church members served in the Christian Education building next door. I got to sit with the students that I had known 50 years ago who had gone to India with me on the first student trip that I led and with Sally Chou, now a Trustee of the college, who did a Chinese ribbon dance in a group that I formed Called the International Traveling Troupe along with another woman who helped me set up the International Dorm, the first coed building on campus where International Students and American students lived together and we had an international meal from some part of the world every Friday. It was fun to remember old times. Not only have I become ancient but all of them are now in the 70’s and also retired.
