MARIGOLDS

In the middle of the night Susie laid a line of marigolds all along the wall from one end to the other on the side of the bridge that connects Marshall to the artist’s studios on the other side of the river. Before the flood beautiful lights on high poles lined the bridge, but the flood waters sent trees and trash over the bridge, washing away half of the metal poles. But the bridge held and the marigolds were in remembrance of that day. Now the river below is shallow and it is easy to wade across. Along with her marigolds were prayer flags in pastel colors on which people had written their reaction to the flood.

Now that would be a great photo – marigolds strung along the bridge and more

I wonder why I cannot ever see anything when you say “which I show here” Is it because I’m a non- (or even anti) Apple person? I make sure to avoid any of that expensive stuff.

That sounds truly beautiful and must have made the remembrance of the losses softer, less painful.
