WEAVERVILLE STREET FAIR
Saturday morning I went to Weaverville to take a look at their street arts and crafts fair. A double line of 50 or more white tents stretched down blocked off Main Street. There were food trucks as well and sidewalk restaurants on a day threatening rain with thunder in the distance. It was and it wasn’t a local fair. There were a number of artists from Madison County and from Asheville but also artists from all over the Southeast. These people might go to twenty or more fairs a year. I asked one woman whether paying for a motel cut out most of her profit and she said that she slept in her car and didn’t spend much on food. There were all kinds of booths as you can see from the photos that took. I will spread the photographs over the next couple of days.
