MONSTER SNAPPING TURTLE
This morning when I walked out of Capitola there was this giant snapping turtle lolling on the walkway up to the front door. He appeared to be lazily lying in the warmth of the sunshine, complete relaxed with one claw tipped leg hanging over the side of the walkway. He eyed me with one beady eye but didn’t seem concerned about my presence or that I was snapping a photo of him. I assume it was a him simply because he looked so ominous. Maybe if I had approached him he would have curled up in his shell. I certain wasn’t afraid of being attacked since he looked to be a very ponderous and slow mover. Later in the morning he was gone, maybe down under the bridge over the stream flowing by Capitola.
