MARSHALL MUSIC
At Zadie’s restaurant on Thursdays a different band or musical performer plays for two hours to a full house of people at the outdoor tables covered by yellow umbrellas. The band this Thursday was led by Tyler Ramsay an Asheville native who gives concerts all over the country. Rain poured down all day long and I was sure that the concert would be cancelled. But when Susie went over at 5:15 to see if the concert was still on, every seat was taken and the drizzle had stopped. She phoned me and managed to squeeze us into two front seats between two tables. I forgot my hearing aids, which was a good thing, because the music was very loud, but being up front allowed me to make spatial videos of the band.
These several times a week concerts are part of what make Marshall so attractive to me. Even as a newcomer I am beginning to know a number of people and feel part of the community.
