BREAKFAST AT THE MED

Tom and I went to the MED, formerly the Mediterranean, a Greek Place, but now run by their hip kids, upscale, where I had fried green tomatoes for the first time in my life, apparently a favorite Southern disk, but even with a sauce, for me, finally having a chance to eat fried green tomatoes, were overrated. Then we spent the middle of the day moving a hutch and some other things out of my old house in Swannanoa that I am selling. The house is almost sold but the process of moving seems as if it will take forever. Some of the things which I can’t bear to part with will end up in storage, as the hutch is, and then have to be moved again. I’ve learned my lesson (maybe) on storage units. The one I have had in Swannanoa since we moved into the house I am selling 30 years ago holds maybe $2000 worth of valuables which have cost me maybe $20,000 to store for 30 years. Much of the stuff in that locker has disintegrated and what is still worth something has to be given away or stored somewhere else.
