Yesterday was the warm up for Marshall Magic with people still getting ready, but today was the beginning of Marshall Magic. I put the last of 100 photographs of Nanostead Volunteers on restaurant walls which I and my daughter Susie had taken right after Helene flooded the town six and a half months ago and Marshall was in crisis clean up mode. 40 photographs were placed in MAD Co Brew House and 60 were placed on the Wall of Zadie’s in the Old Marshall Jail.

Susie made three installations of trash that she had found along the French Broad River after the flood which she put in the washed out window of the still unrenovated Madison County Arts Council.

Everyone was ready for the flood of visitors who were to come on Saturday.
