EATING OUT

Today was another quiet day for me in San Miguel. The yoga leaders were engaged in setting up for the next group which is coming on Thursday and were then going to take it easy. I took it easy, as well. I am relying on tagging along with Martha’s groups when they are introduced to San Miguel and when they take it easy and do nothing, so do I.

My only event of the day was going to the hole in the wall, narrow and stretching back forever grocery store, Bonanza, a short walk away, for salsa to eat with quesadillas and tacos when I bring them home and then a visit to the Marcado Ignacio Ramirez market, where I bought fruit: bananas, papaya and something bright orange.

But while at the market I couldn’t resist sitting down at an aisle counter of a fast food taco place crowded with people. Three soft quesadillas—chorizo, chicken and ham—were 70 pesos, $3.50, and were plenty for lunch.

When I was done, I pulled out my wallet, but the guy in charge, who spoke good English, claimed that the person sitting two seats down from me, who had left, had paid for me. I told the guy this was the first time in my 87 years anyone had done that, and in appreciation paid for the young couple who had just sat down beside me, and then I left.
That’s it folks, nothing else happened today.
