JANUARY 18, SATURDAY

JAZZ CONCERT

Today was a quiet morning. Martha took us around the block to see, Munro, a restaurant at the top of the hill and then we ate breakfast of pastries bought last night at the backery with sliced papaya and then the Bevy and Kaitlyn went shopping for groceries.

In the middle of the afternoon the cupboard was bare so Lucy and I went up to the inviting restaurant we have visited in the morning, but it had closed ten minutes earlier at 3 p.m. We were directed down the hill to Aurora, which turned out to be a collection of arty stores where Lucy and I ate at the Aurora restaurant.

When Lucy and I got back at 4 we found that Martha had a fever, so she stayed behind when the four of us went off to a Blues jazz concert about twenty minutes away by taxi.

A front row seat was left open so I got to sit in front and make a spacial video of the thre musicians, who played a variety of jazz pieces.

Then we came home and I watched the Washington Commanders beat the favored Detroit Lions in the NFL playoffs, shifting back to America with its hype and advertisements for the late evening and then went to bed.
