DECEMBER 21, SATURDAY

MAL’S BAR OPEN FOR THE NIGHT.

A crew has been hard at work restoring MAL’S Bar. After the parade a large crowd squeezed in to order drinks from large ice filled styrofoam chests and to listen to a band play.

The first singer was Indigo De Souza, who was living with friends in a converted church in downtown Marshall when the flood filled the church. Susie and I thought she was a friend drawn up from the audience to sing a few songs, but it turns out that she is a local artist who has three albums out and tours and headlines all over the country. She was terrific as was the rest of the band including an old guy who played the harmonica with a deep mournful sound.
