DECEMBER 6, FRIDAY

BREAD AND PUPPET THEATER

On Friday I saw Bread and Puppet Theater for the first time. They are a performance group from Vermont, founded in the 1960’s, who do radical theater with large puppets and giant masks. They have come to Marshall a number of times and performed in the Marshall Studies in the large assembly hall to overflow audiences. Now the Marshall Studios have been flooded out and so they performed in Broyhill Chapel at Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC. The room was filled to capacity last night as well. The white clad actors and musicians performed two pieces. The first was a very somber Vigil for Gaza. Instead of trying to describe it I will attach a 50 minute video along with photographs of their message in calendars, post cards and posters which they print up in Glover, Vermont.
