VILLE DE LEYVA
Our room in the hotel was beautiful, the whole $45 a night boutique hotel was beautiful. We ate the included breakfast on the room top with red roofs all around and then explored the town. All of the stores were marvelous and many had artisans working in them. I was struck by a set of tiles depicting the Virgin Mary in a framework of tiles which I bought and will lug back. And then we discovered that the large church on the square was open. We had read that it was only open during services. It was beautiful. So this was our day of religion, buying a tiled depiction of the Virgin Mary and taking photographs of the townN cathedral. We ate lunch at our hotel and then headed by taxi to Tunja and a bus ride to Barichara.
