GUILD CRAFT FAIR OF THE SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS
Yesterday was the last day of the craft fair in the Harrah’s Civic Center in Asheville. It is a twice yearly event and is really fun for a photographer to visit because every booth is filled with colorful objects and the vendors know how to use lighting to best show off their wares. Each booth is a photo set expertly set up by the vendors. Not only that but vendors also dress beautifully for the event and are themselves ready to be photographed.
I talked with David Scott, who makes beautiful wooden chairs and tables about his upcoming trip to Spain to see his son (I think) and his wife and child. Jude Stuecker who went to India with me years ago as a student sells her handmade women’s clothing. She sent me a free ticket. I even made a short spatial video of an all women’s band. It was a fun afternoon.
