PEOPLE IN ASHEVILLE

At a time when it seems like everything is breaking apart I want to slow down and simply watch the world go by as I open up and respond. One of the ways for me to do this is to walk around wherever I am and to take photographs of ordinary people doing their thing. In Asheville this is often tourists or people who live here trying to support themselves. They are ordinary people and it doesn’t matter what their political persuasion, or gender or social status, they are simply human beings making their passage through life. When I they touch me by their presence I photograph them and it makes me feel good. And when a sign or art work touches me I photograph it.
