COMMUNITY
I went to church on Sunday and the sermon was about believing in Jesus and accepting Jesus and loving like Jesus. Love will make you fully alive and love will transform the world. In the announcements were a number of upcoming events in which we can show the love of God in our community, by ministering to those in jail, by helping to feed those in our community lacking food, by supporting refugee families. Loving Jesus is our model.
Then in the afternoon Susie and Todd invited me to eat at White Duck Taco and the bank of the French Broad River. The taco were good but the best part of the hour we spent there was sitting outdoors on the bank of the French Broad River as it sparkled in the sunshine. Around us children were playing. Families were relaxing on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We felt like a community enjoying itself, peacefully and without tension. It was a good way to end the day. Families were celebrating Mother’s Day without a tension in the world.
