EFI’S MEALS

I was going to wrestle with the issue of how to reconcile MAGA Republicans and Liberal Democrats but wrestle as I may I’m not having much luck. So instead I will write about the lunches Efi Tripolitsioti brings up to me at 1 p.m. each day.

Efi loves to cook for herself and for others. Two years ago when on a whim I bought a month long ticket to Greece and then followed this by looking for an Airbnb on the Greek islands, hundreds of islands, the first Airbnb that came up, and at a reasonable price, was one that had a photo of a blue domed church and beyond that the dark blue Aegean. I found out later that it was on the island of Paros. That is how I found a room in Efi’s Rooms, totally by chance. But after I spent a month here two years ago it wasn’t the blue church or Aegean that attracted me about the room, it was Efi and her warm heart. I’ve stayed in many Airbnb’s with great hosts but never an Airbnb in which I was taken care of and mothered and fed in the way that Efi does. This is partly because she lives right downstairs while many hosts live at a distance, but it is mainly because of her warmth and concern. So what I am going to show you in this post is some of the daily meals that Efi has brought up to me without it being mentioned on her website and without my paying extra for them. Being invited to the 40th day anniversary of her mother’s church was another way that Efi made me feel at home here and there will be more ways, I am sure.
