FIELD TRIP

Today we went to Spanapolous’s car rental place at 9 to pick up our $25 a day rental car. Spanapolous never showed up. We walked back to our apartment at 9:30 and phoned him. He was in the hospital. So Tom went to a nearby car rental place and rented a small manual shift car for two days at $50 a day. And off we drove.

First we drove for half an hour up into the mmountains to Lefkes, where there were great views, wonderful narrow lanes, a small jewelry store with 40% off where Caroline got a beautiful gold plated ring for $20, narrow lanes between white and blue buildings and a large church with a well kept and interesting cemetery.

Then we drove another half hour to Piso Livadi on the sea which had another crescent beach in a harbor filled with boats and had drinks at a beach restaurant in the sand beside the clear water and met and had a very nice visit with a family with two children from Brussels. The father was a dentist and had traveled to the USA.

And then we drove back to Naousa. I napped and Tom and Caroline shopped. In the late evening we went to the harbor side restaurant with tables next to the fishing boats and had a delicious dinner.
