In the late morning we walk to Regoussis Bakery and have pastry for breakfast. It is almost 12 so I have a delicious cold chicken leg and thigh with orange juice. Then we leave for the beach that is over the hill past the large church overlooking the town at the top of the hill. There are steps on the way up and then a long incline past white hotels and Airbnbs down to the dark blue water where a long sandy beach rims the crescent bay. I put on shorts behind a tree and we lie on the sand. I read and take photographs and we try and skip flat rocks across the water.
After a couple of hours Caroline is hungry and we walk back over the hill and get gyros and meat on skewers at the Pita place in the market. After that we return to our place and I sleep for a couple of hours while Tom goes back to the beach and Caroline reads on the porch and then go out to by the fixings for what she calls Paros sunset, gin and orange juice, and we take it easy before going to Efi‘s Rooms for dinner tonight.
