TOM’S BIRTHDAY
Tuesday started with a slow morning and then Tom and Caroline walking to the end of the crescent of the volcano where down at the rocky edge of the island they went swimming and jumped off a twenty foot high rock into the sea, along with other people. I processed photographs and included them in the day before.
And then in the late afternoon they returned and we all went back down to the edge of the sea, this time by Uber, to a marvelous restaurant, Ammoudi, at the edge of the water where we had an outdoor table and watched the sunset and boats below us and had a wonderful and expensive birthday meal of seafood and red wine. And then after dark we came back up again by Uber.
If you look closely at this photograph you can see the red cliff above the restaurant and the zigzag line of steps up the cliff to Oia perched on the edge of the volcano high above the restaurant.
