SEPTEMBER 19/20

SHAKESPEARE’S TEMPEST

Saturday night, September 21, Susie and I were invited to join friends of Susie to the free Montfort Park Players amateur performance of Shakespeare’s Tempest, which was one part Shakespeare and one part goofy dancing and one part whooping it up with balloons and other special effects. Montfort Park is the third longest running outdoor theater in North Carolina. It has a Shakespearian stage and sits in an outdoor terraced amphitheater with refreshment stands set up at on the path in and the actors circling through the audience with buckets seeking donations at the intermission.

It was a wonderful evening on a cool fall day.
