UNCOMMON MARKET

Today it was supposed to rain all day, but it didn‘t. It was a cool grey day. I spent the early afternoon walking around the outdoor, once a month, Uncommon Market, mainly because is it a great place to take photographs. It takes place in the River Arts District close to the French Broad River. A large number of vendors are selling their brightly colored crafts from folding tables. Just adjacent to the tents of the vendors is Marquee, a huge warehouse where artist‘s have personal booths which they can leave unattended with someone at the door taking the money for anything sold. I walked around for an hour or two taking photographs of whatever caught my eye and even bought a finely stitched Chinese pattern on a glass covered tray for $7, down from $10. It is really easy to bargain for something when you don‘t lust after it and are not sure you even want it. I think $10 was a very good price and $7 ridiculously low. So now I have it and don‘t know whom I am going to serve tea on it
