ASHEVILLE
Today my only foray out was to visit my doctor for my every three months Wellness Visit paid for by Medicare. But apparently Medicare has a 15 minute time limit so we had to rush. I am apparently doing all right. When he heard that I was considering a summer trip to Santiago, Chile, which just showed up on my computer, he told me about a trip he made there for the month of February. He showed me a short movie slide show and it certainly looks like a nice place to visit.

Then I had breakfast at The Med, a former Greek restaurant in downtown Asheville, a ritual for me every time the doctor gives me three more months to live.
And after that I stopped in at the Asheville Art Museum and saw both one room of a show and the very interesting collection of art of a woman who simply buys art that is attractive to her and is letting us see it.

And then I came home, took a long nap and never got started again.
I can show some photographs of the art and a few photographs of people downtown. Asheville is a beautiful and interesting place.

But at the end of the day, unlike every day in Haarlem, I am left with the feeling that nothing stimulating happened today, I don’t feel more alive, unlike Haarlem where all these activities would have for some reason been fascinating, my experience of Asheville seemed ordinary. I saw a couple of Chinese people having a lively conversation in Chinese as they walked along. Maybe for them it was a stimulating day.
