RUE DES MARTYRS

On the Mahy family’s regular Sunday zoom call with Lisa in Bellingham, Washington and Sara in Washington, DC and Mary and Todd now in Gex, France, Lisa was asking about things to do in Paris. Her whole family, Lisa and Jim, Kalifa and Lulu, will be coming to France for two weeks in a couple of weeks and wondered what we enjoyed doing in Paris.

So today and tomorrow I am putting on photographs of the streets that Susie, Todd and I have enjoyed strolling along. Today I will show Rue des Martyrs which is just below Montmartre and tomorrow some photographs of the area where Susie and I stayed in Montmartre last April when we were in Montmartre for a month.

But even as I put then on I know that you can find 100 streets and areas in Paris where the shops are just as inviting and the merry go rounds whirl around with excited children riding the horses. So Rue des Martyrs just happens to be the place where we enjoy walking and wherever they go in Paris will be just as beautiful. The Champs D’Elysee will be just as interesting and with the kids they will probably go to the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. What I am showing could be anywhere in Paris. But it is what we like so I’ll show some of what you see as you walk up Rue des Martyrs.
