TEMPPELIAUKIO CHURCH

When we told Henny, Susie’s cousin who we are going to visit in Holland that we were going to spend five days in Helsinki, she said that she was in a choir that sang in an underground church in Helsinki. So after visiting the Contemporary Art Museum we stopped by to see the church since it was near the museum. The church, which is also used as a concert hall, is built half way underground in a circular rock enclosed space with a large copper ceiling. It is said to have marvelous acoustics. So we walked around within the space and took some photographs.
