BASTILLE THURSDAY MARKET

This morning I woke at 6 and visited the Bastille Thursday market. It was a grey drizzly day at the market but the market was full of people. There were fish stands displaying ugly fish, flower stands, vivid vegetables of all sorts, clothing of every hue, delicious sandwiches being prepared by a very energetic woman. I followed Susie as she looked in at one stand or another. Above us was the tall Bastille tower in the center of a huge plaza and to one side were the protective metal coverings that let light down to the canal boats below where tourists could look up. We stopped in at the outdoor cafe where nine months before we had sat down for coffee when we were tired and dodged bicycles and electric scooters as they came flying buy. There were the shouts of the vendors and a miniature lady still selling her goods. It was all as it was nine months ago when we last visited.

All of this was done through FaceTime at no cost. It was a little grainy, but I was there every step of the way. And then we turned off FaceTime and I lay back down to get some more sleep

.
I took no photographs this time so I am including photographs from nine months ago to share the experience with you.
