PAINTED LADIES OF SAN FRANCISCO

Many of the elegant Victorian homes of San Francisco, now called the painted ladies, escaped the earthquake and fire of 1906 that destroyed much of San Francisco and many of the homes that have been built since are neo Victorian, built with the same elegant bay windows and facades. The open roof Big Bus took me past many of them and I took photographs as many of them as I could, sometimes through the tangle of street car wires. Here are some of them.
