FATHER’S DAY AT THE NEW BELGIUM BREWERY

I had a wonderful Father’s Day. Todd and Susie invited me to brunch at Benne’s at the Foundry Hotel on Eagle street where I had crisp pork belly on johnny cakes with a sweet sauce, a Black Southern delicacy, I believe, (which I forgot to photograph).

And then my son Tom and his family invited me to join their Father’s Day celebration honoring Tom at the New Belgium Brewery on the opposite bank of the French Broad River from the River Arts District at outdoor seating that let us look down at rafters and tubers floating by on a beautiful windy afternoon. It was a wonderful relaxed day.
