SRI LANKA
Here are more photographs of the lush greenery and bright colors of Sri Lanka. The Sarvodaya village development organization which we visited on each trip has helped villagers to transform their villages by working together and supporting each other. The Rajapakse family came to power by crushing the Tamil insurrection and with promises to transform the country through grand economic development projects which, while enriching their family, bankrupt Sri Lanka which is now unable to earn the hard currency to allow them to buy oil, food and medicines from abroad where Sri Lankan rupees have no value. It is a time of unrest and hardship in Sri Lanka which I will be able to observe if I can find a cheap ticket on Scott’s Cheap Flights (or even if I can’t and have to pay full price).
