SPITALFIELDS MARKET

I had been told by Lili that the a good fish and chips place was Poppies in the Spitalfields Market so I went there Thursday afternoon for lunch. And Poppie Fish and Chips was colorful and the fish and chips were terrific.

But in the process I was able to explore the Spitalfields Market which was on legendary Brick Lane. This wildly painted up market had shops with hip names with every vacant wall painted with graffiti. This used to be a Jewish area, but now is a Bangladeshi area, a borough run by Bangladeshis. The lamp posts were are painted with Indian designs and there was a large gate with a Bengali welcome at the beginning of the market.
