A BIG HOUSE
For those from other lands who are curious about American homes I‘ll give you an inside look at a larger than average sized American house. I’ve already shown you my smaller than average sized home. If I ever get invited to a huge house I‘ll show you that, too. But since I don‘t know anyone who lives in a mansion you will have to wait for awhile.
We were invited by the friends of the Mahy family, the Borights, to the home of a cousin who invited them to stay for a few days, taking care of the cat while the owners were away.
The house is a new house but built in an old elegant style so that it looks like an old elegant house inside but with every modern amenity including built in speakers in the walls to pipe music through the house. The front lawn was brightly decorated for Christmas.
The back lawn leads down to a dock on the lagoon which connects, I think, with the ocean. Downstairs were a large kitchen, a screened in porch, a large dining room and a large living room. Upstairs are several bedrooms with only the master bedroom and a portion of the large bathroom photographed.
We were there for a delicious meal hosted by the Borights and good conversation which is what this week together at Rehoboth Beach is all about.
