NOVEMBER 30, TUESDAY

TRANSITION COMPLETED

My last day in Winsen I let go. I wrote a daily response to the trip in which I compared the transition of going from Winsen to Swannanoa to the transition from life to death, then I said goodbye to Ulla Hemme and her family.

While there I learned that Celle has gone from 2G, requiring a mask and vaccination to do most everything to 2G+ which requires in addition a negative test for Covid which must be renewed daily in order to do anything outside the house.

Masks must be worn at all times in public, inside or outside. I am leaving just in time.

Jens drove me to Celle to get my negative test in order to board the flight tomorrow and after he brought me home my landlord, Oliver, offered to drive me to the Celle train station in the morning early enough that I can be sure of catching the train to the Hannover airport.

And then I went to Elke and Heinrich‘s house and had dinner with them and said goodbye. It was a day in which I felt well cared for and a perfect ending to my time in Winsen. My time in Germany is over and my transition from place to place, not from life to death, is complete.
